A further appointee from Gov. Kevin Stitt comes to the University of Oklahoma Board of Regents from a small business qualifications.
The governor announced Friday he picked Rick Braught, of Duncan, to fill a vacant seat on OU’s top governing board, which also oversees Cameron University and Rogers Condition University.
Braught is the president of Buyers Belief Co. He has led the Duncan-centered small business since 1996.
He and his wife, Barbara, also have The Territory Golf & Country Club, a golf study course and residential community in Duncan.
An OU business enterprise graduate, of each bachelor’s and master’s diploma applications, Braught would fill an unexpired phrase ending March 21, 2023.
Braught reported he is “honored” to be appointed.
“I feel enhancement in all facets of our state commences right with how properly we prepare our graduates to excel and direct in their picked fields,” he claimed in a statement.
The governor chose Inasmuch Foundation CEO Bob Ross on March 30 to provide a 7-12 months expression. He succeeded retiring board chairperson Michael Cawley, who opted to phase down when his time period expired in March.

Albert alleged in a Rogers County District Court lawsuit the enterprise wrongfully fired him. The lawsuit, submitted in 2019, is however pending.
OU President Joseph Harroz Jr. said Albert confirmed an “ardent passion” for the university.
